Hachette Book Group is taking over sales and distribution of test prep publisher Peterson’s titles, beginning June 1. Peterson’s books—including guides to colleges and universities, graduate and executive training programs, financial aid, test preparation, and careers—are currently distributed by Simon & Schuster.

Hachette will handle sales and distribution of Peterson’s titles into traditional and nontraditional trade channels internationally, for both physical and e-book formats. Hachette Book Group COO Kenneth Michaels said, “We’re excited to be working with Peterson’s, and look forward to helping them expand their brand both domestically and internationally, as well as supporting them in their developing e-book strategy.”

In other distribution news, Perseus Distribution is taking over sales and distribution of arts and craft publisher Interweave Press, beginning July 1. Perseus will handle sales and distribution to the U.S. and Canada, and distribution only to the world market, excluding the U.K., Australia, and Europe. Interweave will continue to handle direct distribution into the craft store market. Independent Publishers Group currently distributes Interweave books.

Interweave, of Loveland, Colo., has a backlist of more than 300 books and releases about 45 new titles a year. It also publishes 17 magazines for arts and craft enthusiasts, manages a network of more than 30 targeted Web sites, runs consumer trade shows, produces instructional DVDs and online classes, and is the corporate sponsor of three craft programs airing on PBS.
