Tina Pohlman, v-p and publisher of the Crown Publishing Group’s Three Rivers Press and Broadway Paperbacks trade paperback imprints, has announced a rebranding effort aimed at tying the hardcover and trade paperback publishing programs more closely together. Under the realignment, Three Rivers and Broadway will only publish trade paperbacks from certain hardcover imprints; in the past the two imprints had published a mix of titles. In addition, the Crown Business and Crown Forum hardcover titles will be released under those names in paperback format rather than being rebranded.

Beginning immediately, all paperbacks associated with Crown’s general interest trade hardcover fiction and nonfiction program, comprising Crown Publishers and Broadway Books, will be issued under the Broadway Paperbacks imprint name. Broadway Paperbacks will also continue to publish select fiction and nonfiction titles as trade paperback originals.

At Three Rivers, all paperbacks associated with the Crown Archetype and Harmony Books imprints within the branded/category publishing program will be published under the Three Rivers Press imprint. In her memo, Pohlman said the Three Rivers Press list will reflect the editorial focus of Crown Archetype, which publishes celebrity, health and wellness, and pop culture titles, and Harmony, which publishes leading authors in the mind/body/spirit and self-help categories. In addition, Three Rivers Press will continue its tradition of publishing trade paperback originals in categories such as humor and pop culture.

No staffing changes are taking place under the realignment. Paperbacks associated with Clarkson Potter, Potter Style, Potter Craft, Watson-Guptill, and the Monacelli Press, overseen by Lauren Shakely, and Ten Speed Press, under the direction of Aaron Wehner, will continue to be published under their respective imprint names.
