New York-based Cyrus Kheradi has been appointed senior v-p, director, international sales and marketing for Penguin Random House, overseeing all of the newly merged company’s U.S.-originated activities in his area.

In announcing his new cross-company position, PRH president and COO Madeline McIntosh, to whom he reports, said in a memo to the company's U.S.emplyees, "For the past two decades Cyrus has been focused on the global marketplace, previously at Simon & Schuster, and at Random House since 2010, earning a stellar reputation for the outstanding results his team’s customer- and publisher-centric approach have achieved in support of our titles.”

The team responsible for selling Penguin's titles published in the U.S. in export markets now report to Kheradi, who will continue as director, East Asia business development for Random House LLC.

“The continued growth in international demand for English language books in all formats is one of our new company’s great commercial opportunities," added McIntosh. "Penguin and Random House have each brought to our merger a wealth of international sales experience and capabilities; the prospect of coordinating and sharing these assets to benefit all our publishers and authors, as well as our accounts across the globe, is exciting indeed. This process will be long-term in nature, and involve collaboration across the company’s publishing headquarters globally.”

Kheradi's appointment continues PRH's movement toward creating a united staff in its operating units. Last week the company announced the creation of a cross-company senior management team for PRH’s fulfillment operations.
