Penguin Random House hosted its second annual Company Week last month, from June 18-22, holding 65 events including talks, panels, workshops, and other activities for its employees. The week-long event was based on four themes: discover, connect, inspire, and serve.

PRH US CEO Madeline McIntosh kicked off the event on June 18, and the publisher's New York City–based employees from both 1745 Broadway and the soon-to-be-closed Hudson Street offices were in attendance. The event culminated in the Penguin Random House Global Walk, which raised more than $36,000 for i, Too, Arts Collective, a Harlem-based non-profit dedicated to the neighborhood's arts and community.

Events during the week included a discussion of the inaugural Penguin Random House Reads selection, Jacqueline Woodson’s If You Come Softly, which featured the author in conversation with longtime editor and publisher Nancy Paulsen. McIntosh hosted a panel on sales and summer reads, while One World v-p, publisher, and editor-in-chief Chris Jackson and Kokila v-p and publisher Namrata Tripathi discussed the birth of their respective imprints and their converging diversity-focused missions.

Conversations with booksellers, a "mindful mental break" led by Buddhist mediation teacher and author Lodro Rinzler, and presentations on shipping fulfillment, social responsibility, environmentalism in publishing, and more rounded out the week's events.
