HarperCollins has teamed with the Ingram Content Group to create a year-round quick reorder program for bookstores in 10 western states. The partnership comes in the wake of Baker & Taylor’s exit from the trade wholesale business, which included leaving its Reno warehouse which supplied many bookstores in the west.

Under the program, HC said, all independent bookstores in the 10 states placing orders with HC before 3 p.m. EST/12 p.m. PDT will have orders expedited and shipped no later than the next business day. HC said that in most cases orders will be delivered in two to three business days, providing books are in stock. Ingram will fulfill the orders from its Roseburg, Ore. warehouse.

The 10 states that are involved in the program are: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. The program will start in late October.

Kathy Faber, vice president of sales said, “Quick replenishment is a key ingredient in successful bookselling today, and we are happy to be working with Ingram to offer this program to stores in the western states,” said Kathy Faber, v-p of sales for HC in a statement.

Accounts should process their HC orders in the same way they always have, no special instructions needed.

Separately, HC said it will also repeat its Holiday Express Shipping program for independent bookstores in the U.S. from October 28, 2019, through January 10, 2020.
