Harper Group has announced the launch of Harper Edge, a new nonfiction imprint dedicated to titles on personal growth set to debut next spring with the release of What to Make of a Life by Jim Collins. Harper Edge will publish 10 titles per year, geared toward helping readers “realize the fullest expression of themselves, hone their edge, and claim their futures,” per the publisher.
Hollis Heimbouch, SVP and publisher of the Harper Business imprint, will head up Harper Edge while continuing in her current role. Kirby Sandmeyer, editor at Harper Business, will likewise acquire titles for both Harper Edge and the business imprint, which "remains focused on leadership and other business-related topics,” per the announcement.
“Work doesn’t end when you leave the office, and personal growth doesn’t pause during business hours,” Heimbouch said. “People are navigating careers that demand creativity and reinvention, relationships that require empathy and authenticity, and communities crying out for engaged citizens. They need frameworks that work across all these domains—not another life hack, but actual wisdom for the complexity of modern existence.”
Collins's What to Make of a Life, acquired by Heimbouch earlier this year “shares findings from an ambitious 10-year research project devoted to studying remarkable lives from a wide array of human endeavors,” per the publisher. Release is slated for April 2026.
