Bookwire, the Frankfurt-based digital publishing services provider, has appointed Andrew Weinstein as U.S. country manager effective today.
Weinstein, a digital publishing veteran who spent more than 11 years at subscription platform Scribd, most recently as VP of content, succeeds Brittyne Lewis, who will transition to a sales role with Bookwire U.S.
Weinstein previously helped build Ingram's digital distribution and print-on-demand businesses and worked at digital magazine platform Zinio.
"With Andrew's experience and deep industry expertise, we are ideally positioned to continue to aggressively grow our U.S. team and customer base in the coming years," said Bookwire CEO Jens Klingelhöfer in a statement.
The leadership change comes four months after Bookwire's acquisition by U.S. private equity firm Insight Partners.
Last month, Insight Holdings Group also agreed to purchase 100% of Berlin-based digital audio company Zebralution from GEMA, according to Music Business Worldwide. That transaction remains subject to approval by Germany's Federal Cartel Office.
Taken together, the acquisitions position Insight to control a vertically integrated digital publishing distribution platform. Bookwire's cloud-based OS delivers 1.3 million e-books and 300,000 audiobooks to global retailers for 3,600 publishers. Zebralution distributes audiobooks, podcasts and music for more than 1,000 labels and publishers across nine offices.
