The Morrow Group has announced a relaunch Harper Wave, which focuses on lifestyle and wellness titles, as a frontlist imprint and published the revived program's first title today. The imprint had been dormant for a couple of years.
Led by Diana Baroni, SVP and publisher of Harper Wave and Harvest, the revitalized imprint will release around 10 titles per year, aiming for “paradigm-shifting nonfiction from innovative authors, credentialed experts, and thought leaders,” per the announcement.
Harper Wave’s relaunch coincides with the publication of financial educator and influencer Vivian Tu’s Well Endowed, out today. The imprint’s new list also includes Hotwired by Bill Gifford; The Invincible Brain by Majid Fotuhi, a professor at Johns Hopkins University; and Getting Naked by actor Valerie Bertinelli.
The imprint was originally launched by Karen Rinaldi and Julie Will in 2012 with a focus on lifestyle and health, broadly defined. Its mix of titles on individual healing, cookbooks, collective well-being, and parenting fared well as interest in wellness rose and crested through the pandemic.
In March 2024, Rinaldi left Harper Wave, which was then transferred to the Morrow Group and put under Baroni’s leadership in September 2024. The frontlist program marks the end of the imprint's brief dormancy.
“I’m so honored to be revitalizing the list Karen Rinaldi founded,” Baroni said. “My goal is to build on its solid foundation and broaden its scope to publish books that offer ideas and guidance across genres—including narrative nonfiction, memoir, and authoritative advice—to help readers navigate today’s complexities.”
Future Harper Wave books, per an announcement, include titles from social psychologist Amy Cuddy, The Comfort Crisis author Michael Easter, country music artist Wynonna Judd, and podcast host Liz Moody.
