In a move that brings together two publishers in New Age and related fields, Red Wheel/Weiser will take over distribution for New World Library from PGW September 1, 2026.

New World is best known for publishing The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and other important authors include Joseph Campbell, Deepak Chopra, Dan Millman, Mother Theresa, and Marc Allen. The publisher has a list of about 600 titles and is currently distributed by Ingram Content Group’s PGW.

As part of the transition, Kevin Votel, who had worked at PGW and was most recently a consultant with New World, has joined New World as its director of sales & marketing. He will work closely with Red Wheel to expand the publisher’s reach and connect with new audiences.

“I’m excited and honored to join the New World Library team. This is a transformational time, and NWL’s inspirational editorial sensibilities are needed now more than ever,” said Votel.

Red Wheel already has a distribution program of mind/body/spirit and New Age authors, and CEO Michael Kerber said he thinks the agreement could be the first of many that involve independent publishers in related subject areas banding together. He noted that while New World does well in traditional bookstores, Red Wheel affords New World the opportunity to expand its sales into more specialized outlets.

The New World agreement is the first part of what could be a transformative year for Red Wheel. Kerber hopes to close on an acquisition in the first half of the year and if all goes according to plan—including solid sales from Red Wheel's existing titles—Kerber believes Red Wheel could see major growth in the next couple of years.
