What is the imprint’s role in the Fox News Media ecosystem?
Live TV is about helping talent connect, tell stories, and build communities, but it’s fast and often unscripted. Someone like Shannon Bream can’t spend 20 minutes on Fox News talking about her faith, but she can pour that into an 800-page book. Then Fox Nation can create a special around it, and our podcast division can create a podcast. Our north star is to meet the audience where they’re at.
You dipped into fiction last year with Trey Gowdy and Christopher Greyson’s The Color of Death. Are you planning to do more?
Trey is a former prosecutor who loves crime—and was already a bestselling nonfiction author—and true crime is one of the biggest spaces on our streaming platform. Getting him to write a novel just felt like a natural extension of who he is and where our audience is. The book was a bestseller, and we’re going to build on that formula.
Are there other new categories you have an eye on?
Children’s books. There are a lot of new moms who work at Fox News Media, and it’s really hard to find books for kids that reflect family values. When I grew up, story time was one of those ways that I connected with my parents, and values were passed down in a very natural way. I’d love for us to be part of that tradition. It’ll also be nice to talk about America250—a topic that’s not divisive. We’re looking at something in the history space.
