Thomas Nelson is hosting a sweepstakes in the hopes of getting customers into bookstores. Called “On the House,” it begins today and runs until April 30.

The publisher randomly placed stickers inside the back covers of books, and then sent the books to booksellers throughout the country. Customers who purchase a Nelson title with a sticker in the back will win one of thousands of prizes that include electronic tablets, e-readers, a library of Thomas Nelson books, and e-book downloads. People can also enter by mailing in an entry form (which is free); Nelson will randomly draw winners from the pool.

Rick Spruill, senior v-p of ABA sales for Nelson, came up with the idea for the sweepstakes. He said its goal is “to help our retail brick and mortar booksellers increase the daily customer traffic into their stores.”
