Alex Field, v-p and publisher at WaterBrook and Multnomah, is leaving the company in September to start an author-consulting business, according to an announcement made Wednesday by Tina Constable, senior v-p and publisher of Christian Publishing for the Crown Publishing Group.

Speaking to the staff at WaterBrook and Multnomah, which are imprints of Penguin Random House/The Crown Publishing Group, Constable praised Field for helping her "position WaterBrook and Multnomah for the future."

“He was integral in our Christian consumer analytic marketplace overview, helping to refine our imprints’ mission statements and working with the team to shape a vision for our acquisition strategy," she said, adding that Field "will be missed by all."

Constable said a search has begun for Field's successor.
