Bear Grylls Signs with Thomas Nelson

Thomas Nelson’s LeeEric Fesko bought Soul Fuel, a 365-day devotional by the star of the Man vs. Wild television series Bear Grylls. Caroline Michel of Peters Fraser and Dunlop negotiated the deal. No further rights details were disclosed. Divided into themes such as purpose, courage, freedom, and risk, the book will delve into spiritual insights Grylls gleaned along his experiences as a Special Forces officer in the British Army, a survivalist, and a father. Soul Fuel is slated for publication on July 30.

Zondervan Gets Down to Business

Esther Fedorkevich of the Fedd Agency sold world rights to Zondervan acquiring editor Andy Rogers for an untitled book by Jeff Henderson, a pastor and former marketing strategist for the Atlanta Braves, Chick-fil-A, and more. The book, which is scheduled to be published in the fall, takes a critical look at modern branding tactics as being narcissistic, and calls on businesses and nonprofits to better reach and serve customers, according to the publisher.

Harvest House Takes Agent’s Debut

Literary agent and former publicity director for Thomas Nelson Blythe Daniel is bringing a book co-written with her mother, Dr. Helen McIntosh, to Harvest House. Mended: Restoring the Hearts of Mothers and Daughters features quotes from Scripture, prayers, conversation starters, and other tips aimed toward rebuilding relationships between mothers and daughters. Kathleen Kerr, associate senior editor of Harvest House, acquired the book, which is slated for publication on April 9. Daniel represented herself and McIntosh in the world rights deal.
