Zondervan Gets ‘Relational Intelligence’

Stephanie Smith at Zondervan took world rights from Shannon Marven at Dupree Miller & Associates to Relational Intelligence: The People Skills You Need for the Life of Purpose You Want by Dharius Daniels. In it, Daniels draws on his experience as a pastor to make the case for why “there’s no such thing as a casual relationship,” presenting a model for managing relationships that is based on Jesus’s selection of the 12 disciples, according to the publisher. The book is slated for publication in January 2020.

Brazos Addresses an Age Old Conflict

In a world rights deal, Kathy Helmers at Creative Trust sold Why Science and Faith Need Each Other by Elaine Howard Ecklund to Brazos Press editor Katelyn Beaty. Scheduled for publication in summer 2020, the book addresses contentious debates over topics such as the origins of the universe, evolution, climate change, and genetic technologies, according to the publisher.

Chalice Defends Kindness

President and publisher of Chalice Brad Lyons took world English rights to In Defense of Kindness by Bruce Reyes-Chow. The book, which is slated to release in summer 2020, explores ways to respond to “public and private exchanges of hatred” with a kindness that can lead to the restoration of community and wholeness, according to the publisher. No agent was involved in the deal.
