InterVarsity Press Signs Multiple Deals

Al Hsu, of IVP, took world rights to Just Missions by Mekdes Haddis, a millennial African missiologist, Just Missions founder, and thought leader. The book is scheduled for a summer 2022 release. Haddis was represented by Jevon Bolden of Embolden Media Group.

Tod Bolsinger, author of the award-winning Canoeing the Mountains, has signed a two-book contract with IVP’s Cindy Bunch for a book and study guide tentatively titled Good Soil, Holy Ground, scheduled to release in 2024. World rights were negotiated with agent Kathryn Helmers with Creative Trust.

Chosen Books in Two-books Deals with Giles

Kim Bangs at Chosen Books bought world rights to two books from speaker, preacher and teacher Joshua Giles. The first, scheduled for publication in June 2022 is Prophetic Forecast, which offers insights and instructions to help readers navigate unprecedented changes so they can reset for the future. Jevon Bolden at Embolden Media Group negotiated the deal.

Jun's 'Road' Travels to Tyndale

Biracial Korean American storyteller Tasha Jun's A Road That Trembles, a collection of reflections and exhortations about how one's cultural and ethnic identities are meant to be married to their faith, went to Jillian Schlossberg at Tyndale for publication in September 2022. Jevon Bolden of Embolden Media Group negotiated world rights.

Bethany House Takes Two from Daniel

Andy McGuire, editorial director for Bethany House, took world rights from Blythe Daniel of The Blythe Daniel Agency for the tentatively titled Ordinary on Purpose. The book is by Mikala Albertson, family practice doctor, mom of five, and blogger at ordinaryonpurpose.com. In her book, set for will release in spring 2022, Albertson gives women permission to be ordinary instead of constantly performing.

In a second deal with Daniel, Bethany House signed Lisa Appelo, contributing writer for numerous websites, for a book tentatively titled Never Expected This for release in April 2022. Acquisitions editor Jennifer Dukes Lee took world right to the book for women who have experienced deep disappointment.

New Brazos Title Addresses Racial Injustice

Brazos editor Katelyn Beaty has acquired a book, tentatively titled White Noise, by pastor and activist Willie Dwayne Francois III, president of the Black Church Center for Justice and Equality. In his work, Francois seeks to equip readers to take up practices that overcome silence and inaction on race and injustice. Exclusive world rights were negotiated by Adrienne Ingrum of Adrienne Ingrum, LLC, and the book is to release in summer 2022.

Revell Signs Martin, Stephens

Revell has signed a two-book contract with Shannan Martin, author of Falling Free and The Ministry of Ordinary Places. The first of the untitled books is scheduled for a fall 2022 release. Acquisitions editor Kelsey Bowen negotiated world rights with Karen and Curtis Yates of Yates & Yates.

Also at Revell, editorial director Andrea Doering took world rights to Entrusted Woman founder Kia StephensOvercoming Father Wounds: Exchanging Your Pain, Embracing God’s Love, scheduled for January 2022 release. Jevon Bolden at Embolden Media Group represented the author, who offers hope to women who have been hurt and rejected by their fathers.
