Empty Nesters Take Heart

Tom Dean of A Drop of Ink sold world rights to Rob Teigen, v-p of publishing at Christian Art Gifts, for the tentatively titled 366 Devotions for the Empty Nester by Terri DeBoer, a television meteorologist in West Michigan and the author of Brighter Skies Ahead (Morgan James). The devotional offers a year’s worth of readings that feature Bible wisdom and personal stories intended to encourage those facing an empty nest. The book is slated for publication in fall 2023.

Broadleaf’s Just Investment

Broadleaf’s senior editor Adrienne Ingrum bought world rights from Regina Brooks at Serendipity Literary Agency to Social Justice Investing: Making Your Finances Match Your Personal Values by Andrea Longton. The author is a CFA and senior v-p at Opportunity Finance Network, where she leads efforts to in direct investments toward social justice objectives. Written for readers who want to use their investment resources—including IRAs, Roths, SEPs, 401k and 403b accounts—for social justice, Social Justice Investing explains how to apply a social justice lens to personal finance decisions, including purchasing stocks. Doing so, Longton writes, can promote economic inclusion. The book is scheduled for publication in spring 2024.
