The Association of Catholic Publishers has announced its 2024 Excellence in Publishing Awards with 56 awards in first, second, or third place going to 17 different publishers.

Ave Maria Press not only won the General Interest category with A Catholic Guide to Miscarriage, Stillbirth, and Infant Loss: Compassionate Answers to Difficult Questions by Abigail Jorgensen, it also took second place and a tie for two books in third place in the same category with four other titles.

Chrism Press also swept all three places in the Fiction category leading with first place winner, Wake of Malice by Eleanor Bourg Nicholson.

Orbis Books' Everyday Sacred, Everywhere Beauty: Readings from an Old Monk's Journal by Mary Lou Kownacki, won for Inspirational books.

Two publishers tied for first in the Spirituality category—ICS Publications with The Intimate Sharing of Friends: Saint Teresa of Ávila on Prayer by Mark O'Keefe, O.S.B., and Liturgical Press with Thomas Merton in California: The Redwoods Conferences and Letters edited by M. Odorisio.

In the three categories for young people, the top award for picture books went to Eli's Quiet Friend by Allison Regina Gliot, FSP with illustrator Emily Boughton (Pauline Books & Media); for Teens to Envision: Theology of the Body for Middle School by Brian Butler, Jason Evert, and Colin and Aimee MacIver (Ascension Press), and there was a tie in the Young Readers category with Dive Deep: 40 Days with God at Sea by Orianne Pietra René Dyck, FSP; Illustrator: Romi Caron;(Pauline Books & Media) and Giovanni and the Fava Beans: The Story of the St. Joseph Altar by Joseph P. Ruli, (Word on Fire Ministries) sharing first place
