Christian publisher David C Cook has appointed Linda Howard executive publisher. Howard was formerly associate publisher at Tyndale House.
In her new role, Howard will oversee all aspects of trade book publishing including acquisitions, editorial development, and production for the company’s growing brands, including the Action Bible and the Chosen series. Those responsibilities had previously been held by Chadd Miller, who was divisional president of publishing before his promotion to COO in April.
In the August 5 announcement, David C Cook CEO Bill Reeves lauded Howard for her "proven track record of success," knowledge of Cook's customer base, and experience with multimedia. Reeves added that her "character and work ethic are highly regarded throughout the publishing industry and she has a wealth of experience in areas in which we’re continuing to expand."
Howard said in a press release that she's excited to "work alongside a talented team on projects that will continue to equip today’s generations with resources to grow their faith.”
During her 19 years at Tyndale House, Howard led in acquiring and developing Christian children's products, oversaw the kids division, served as senior product manager, and guided Tyndale's publishing relationship with Focus on the Family.
