Exploration of ‘Tender’ Living to Eerdmans

Lisa Ann Cockrel, acquisitions editor at Eerdmans Publishing, bought world rights to Roger Hutchison’s tentatively titled Into the Woulds: A Field Guide to the Inner Life for Tender Souls. Hutchison, author of numerous books for children and adults and director of Children’s and Youth Ministries at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston, invites readers through mediations, prompts, and practices to stop performing for a love they already have and step into a gentler, more grounded way of living, said the publisher. The book is slated for 2027. Keely Boeving of WordServe Literary brokered the deal.

WaterBrook Takes Trio from Alabaster

Executive editor Drew Dixon of WaterBrook has acquired world rights to three titles from Alabaster Co. leaders Samuel Han and Brian Chung, via Maria Ribas at Stonesong. These titles will kick off a new line called The Bible Beautiful with Alabaster. Each volume will integrate visual imagery with the scripture. According to the publisher, the first of the three books, The Gospels Collection, will release in summer 2027 and feature the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John paired with photography. Two Bible studies will follow with publication dates not yet set.

Herald Bets on Guide to Praying for Community, Nation

Sara Versluis, acquisitions editor for Herald Press, took world rights to Sarah Sanderson’s tentatively titled On Earth: Praying God’s Will for the Here and Now from Keely Boeving of WordServe Literary. The book follows the author over the course of a year that she spends praying in front of the White House one Saturday every month. It is a prayer guide and work manual that draws from Scripture as well as the wisdom of contemporary social problem-solvers, for Christians who want to learn how to better seek the welfare of their communities and their nation at large, said the publisher. Publication is scheduled for fall 2026.

Morrow’s Second to Zondervan

Tom Dean of A Drop of Ink Literary has negotiated a world rights deal—with Keren Baltzer, associate publisher at Zondervan Books—for a second book from content creator and speaker Emily Morrow (Really Very Crunchy) to be released in spring 2027. In the new book, titled Hold Fast, Morrow urges readers to hold fast even when their grip feels weak, and to root themselves in faith, family, conviction, love, and wonder, according to the publisher.

Revell Signs Title for Grieving Women

Revell senior acquisitions editor Kelsey Bowen has taken world rights in a two-book deal with speaker and certified grief coach Bethany Spencer, negotiated by Jenni Burke of Illuminate Literary Agency. The first book, titled Living Lament, is a faith-based and practical guide for grieving Christian women that honors their sorrow and offers trauma-informed tools and strategies to rebuild their lives, said the publisher. This book releases in spring 2027, with the second book TBD.
