Bardales to Head PW’s Spanish-language Coverage

Aída Bardales has been selected to oversee PW’s coverage of the Spanish-language book market as a contributing editor. She succeeds Leyhla Ahuile, who has taken a job at eBay.

Bardales has a deep background in the Spanish-language book industry. She was a senior editor at Críticas, the bimonthly magazine focused on the Spanish-language publishing industry, which examined trends and introduced authors to readers who do not read Spanish. Prior to that, she was an editor for HarperCollins’s Latino imprint, Rayo, and was an editor at Bookspan’s Spanish-language book clubs, Mosaico and Círculo de lectores.

More recently, Bardales wrote reviews and articles for a number of publications. She has also worked as a translator and served as a copy editor for different Spanish-language publications and imprints.

She will start at PW on September 11.
