Hang on to your hats, folks. PW’s announcements issues are no more. From here on out, we’ll be calling this feature exactly what it is: a preview of adult fiction and nonfiction titles publishing in spring 2024. We’re still getting used to the new name around the office—there was even talk of a swear jar and a $1 fine for every utterance of the word announcements—but longtime PW readers will gather right away that while the packaging might be new, the goods are still the same.
Back in September, we invited publishers to submit information on titles publishing between Feb. 1 and July 31, 2024. Our editors then sifted through the thousands of submissions to pull together their selections for the notable books of spring and summer in 13 categories. Each category has a top-10 list and a longlist rife with promising debuts, hotly anticipated returns, and offbeat contenders.
