With the holiday season upon us, PW Preview for Librarians is taking some time off. The December 17 issue will be our last of 2021. We will return with our usual Friday dispatch on January 8, 2022.

On a personal note, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all our readers, sponsors, and supporters a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season. I remain in awe of the librarians and library workers across the country who continue to serve their communities amid such uncertainty. And grateful.

Let's hope 2022 marks a turning point in the Covid-19 crisis. And more than that, let's all do our part to make that happen. There is no better way to show the librarians, teachers, and frontline workers in your community that you truly care than by getting vaccinated and masking up when necessary.

As the holiday party season gets rolling (and the omicron variant accelerates) may we humbly suggest: if you're not yet vaccinated, please get the shot. If you're not yet boosted, please get your booster. And if you're still hesitant about the vaccines or the efficacy of masks, your local library is ready to help you find the information you need to make an informed choice.

Let's all do our part to put an end to the Covid-19 crisis once and for all. Surely that's a New Year's resolution we can all get behind.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season,

Andrew Richard Albanese, Editor, PW Preview for Librarians
