PWxyz LLC is a digital media assets company based in New York and the parent company of Publishers Weekly, its signature brand. Founded in 1872, Publishers Weekly is the international news platform of the book publishing industry and boasts 1.11 million Twitter, Facebook and other social media followers; publishes nine e-newsletters, BookLife (a website and monthly supplement), two blogs, a mobile edition, site licenses, digital editions and apps; and features a thriving website that reaches 1 million unique visitors each month.
PWxyz’s joint ventures include BookWorks, a global community for self-published authors and the professionals and companies who serve them; BookLife, with Mediapolis, Inc., providing articles and resources to help self-published authors and writers achieve their goals; and PubMatch, founded with Combined Book Exhibit, a complete rights toolkit for publishers, agents and authors. Live events cofounded and cosponsored by PWxyz include Global Kids Connect, with Bologna Children’s Book Fair and BolognaFiere, an annual executive conference dedicated to issues of international children’s publishing and rights; Celebration!, a party that follows Global Kids Connect to honor children’s book authors, illustrators and translators who received a Publishers Weekly starred review during the previous year; PubTechConnect, with NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Center for Publishing, a one-day conference that explores how book publishers and other media industries can best embrace innovation and digital expansion; and PW Star Watch, with the Frankfurt Book Fair, an awards program that celebrates rising “stars” of the U.S. publishing community and brings recognition to them on a global stage.
