Jennifer Bergstrom Promoted to EVP of S&S
Jennifer Bergstrom has been promoted to EVP of Simon & Schuster. In addition to her new role, she will continue leading the Gallery Publishing Group.
Bergstrom originally joined S&S in 1998 as editorial director of the publisher’s children’s media imprint, Simon Spotlight. In 2004, she transitioned over to the adult division, where she launched Simon Spotlight Entertainment. In 2009, she was named editor-in-chief of the newly-formed Gallery Books imprint and was promoted to publisher in 2013, where she "set the industry standard in the high-risk world of celebrity publishing," said Jonathan Karp, CEO of S&S, in his announcement of the promotion.
Since then, Bergstrom has overseen various imprints aside from Gallery, including Scout Press, Gallery 13, Pocket Books, Threshold, and, most recently, 13A, which highlights Black American voices in culture and politics, per the publisher.
"Few people embody the spirit, ambition, and imagination of Simon & Schuster as completely as Jen," Karp said, adding that the promotion to EVP was a "well-deserved recognition of her leadership."
