Viking Acquires Ani DiFranco Memoir

Penguin Random House imprint Viking Books has acquired an as-yet-untitled memoir by Grammy Award–winning musician and social activist Ani DiFranco. A release date for the book has not been set.

Viking executive editor Rick Kot will edit the book. Viking acquired World English Rights, first serial rights, and audio rights to the forthcoming book.

In 1990, at the age of 20, DiFranco released her first album through her own label, Righteous Babe Records. She has gone on to record more than 20 albums, and has sold more than 5 million albums. She is a celebrated feminist activist as well as a major recording artist, and continues to tour and release records through Righteous Babe Records.

In 2017, DiFranco will release Binary, a new album of music. Questions about translation rights can be sent to Julia Conrad at Sarah Lazin Books at julia@lazinbooks.com
