Sara Bershtel to be Honored with Ottaway Award

Sara Bershtel, publisher of Metropolitan Books/Henry Holt, will be the recipient of the 2015 Ottaway Award for the Promotion of International Literature, given by nonprofit Words without Borders.

“Sara Bershtel is one of America’s most sensitive and discriminating editors,” said Jonathan Galassi, Words without Borders board of directors member and president and publisher of Farrar, Straus and Giroux. “Time and again she has brought her broad and urbane understanding of literature and politics to the publishing of books that have made a crucial difference to our culture.”

 

The Ottaway Award will be presented to Bershtel at the annual Words without Borders gala on November 2, in New York City.
