USPS to Issue ‘The Snowy Day’ Forever Stamps

The U.S. Postal Service has announced plans to dedicate Forever stamps based on Ezra Jack Keats’s classic picture book, The Snowy Day (Viking, 1962). The book, which earned Keats a Caldecott Medal, is renowned as one of the first picture books to prominently feature an African-American child.

A dedication ceremony will be held on October 4 at the Central Library of the Brooklyn Public Library. The stamps may be pre-ordered here, for delivery shortly after the issuance.
