BookTV Adds Fiction to Its Lineup
As a special project for 2018, C-SPAN2's BookTV will feature 12 best-selling fiction writers on its monthly In Depth series after 20 years of nonfiction-exclusive programming. The fiction programming will focus on writers of historical fiction, science and national security thrillers, and social commentary, and will bring such authors as Brad Thor, Jeff Shaara, Cory Doctorow, Geraldine Brooks, and Walter Mosley to the studio to "spend three hours live at the In Depth interview table to talk about their craft, their characters, and the stories they tell." The programs are interactive—BookTV's audience can ask questions via telephone and social media. Washington Post writer David Ignatius, who is also the author of ten fiction titles, will kick off the special series on Sunday, January 7 at noon ET.
