Rare Bird to Publish Three Books by Richard Pryor

Rare Bird Books, the Los Angeles-based press distributed by Publishers Group West, has signed a deal with Jennifer Pryor, the widow of Richard Pryor, to publish three books by the late comedian.

The first, Pryor Convictions, is a paperback reissue of Pryor’s 1995 Pantheon Books memoir, to be released in March 2018 with a new introduction by comedian Tig Notaro. The second, to be released in October of 2018, is a collection of Pryor’s never before published diaries. In spring of 2019, Rare Bird will release a gift book of Pryor’s “menus,” or set lists.
