Camilla Zhang Named Kickstarter Comics Outreach Lead

Camilla Zhang has joined Kickstarter as its comics outreach lead and will be focused on supporting the development and completion of the increasing number of comics and graphic novel campaigns on the crowdfunding platform.

Zhang has worked as an assistant editor for DC Comics where she helped edit such projects as the Before Watchmen series, and Batman: Black & White Vol. 4. In addition, her stories have been published by Top Cow, Crossed Genres, and Reading With Pictures. She has also worked for Marvel and with Mad Cave Studios.

She will work alongside Kickstarter publishing and comics director Margot Atwell in support of the burgeoning and diverse Kickstarter comics community, focused on a variety of online Kickstarter events as well as offline projects.

Atwell said, “Camilla’s breadth of experience in the comics world make her an excellent addition to the team. And her passion for promoting empathy, inclusion, and equality through great storytelling make her a great person to support, educate, and celebrate the wide range of creators bringing projects to life here.”
