Bass, Benitez Join Rayo and Amistad, Respectively

Edward Benitez has joined Rayo as executive editor, reporting to Judith Curr. In this role, Benitez will acquire and edit projects for Rayo, both English and Spanish, and present a strategic list of projects that will help grow HarperCollins’ overall presence in the Americas. Benitez's career portfolio includes international sales management for PRH, Parragon Books, Perseus Book Group/ Publishers Group Worldwide, and Simon and Schuster and, most recently, he served as senior acquisitions editor for HarperCollins Español.
Patrik Bass has joined Amistad as senior editor, reporting to Tracy Sherrod. He joins the company from Essence Communications, where he spent 18 years and, most recently, served as editorial projects director.
