SPX Announces the 2018 Ignatz Awards Nominations

The Small Press Expo, an annual festival of small press and self-published comics and graphic novels, has announced the 2018 nominations for the Ignatz Awards, an annual prize honoring excellence in independent comics.

Among the nominated authors and works are Yellow Negroes and Other Imaginary Creatures by Yvan Alagbé (Outstanding Artist), Beirut Won’t Cry by Mazen Kerbaj (Outstanding Collection), Comics for Choice edited by Hazel Newlevant, Whit Taylor and Ø.K. Fox (Outstanding Anthology), and Why Art? By Eleanor Davis (Outstanding Graphic Novel).

The Ignatz Awards will be presented on Saturday night at SPX, which will be held September 15-16, at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center in Bethesda, Md.
