Morrison, Mehta to Be Honored By Center for Fiction

The Center for Fiction will present Toni Morrison with its Lifetime of Excellence in Fiction honors at the annual awards dinner on December 11. Oprah Winfrey will make the presentation and speak about Morrison’s life and work. Also honored at the dinner will be Sonny Mehta, editor-in-chief of Alfred A. Knopf and chairman of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, who will receive the 14th Annual Maxwell Perkins Award, to be presented by author Carl Hiaasen. Co-chairs of the dinner are authors Lee Child and Michael Ondaatje.
