Henry Holt Acquires Larry Kramer Biography

Henry Holt will publish the first biography of Larry Kramer, the prolific writer and AIDS activist. The book will be written by Bill Goldstein, who will have editorial freedom in this authorized biography, and will have exclusive access to Kramer, now 83, and to his husband David Webster. Goldstein reviews books on NBC4’s Weekend Today in New York, is curator of public programs at Roosevelt House at Hunter College, and was the founding editor of the books website at the  New York Times. Holt’s editor in chief, Gillian Blake, acquired North American rights for the book from Joy Harris of The Joy Harris Literary Agency.
