Saqi to Publish Newly-Discovered Mahfouz Collection

U.K.-based publisher Saqi Books has acquired world English rights from its Beirut-based sister company, Dar al Saqi, for a newly-discovered collection of short stories by the late Egyptian Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz. The as-yet-untitled collection, comprised of 18 stories set in Cairo, the author's home city, will be translated by Roger Allen, and is slated to be released in autumn 2019. Dar al Saqi will publish in Arabic this year on Mahfouz’s birthday, December 11, during the Beirut International Arab Book Fair.
