Finalists for NYPL’s Helen Bernstein Book Award Announced

The New York Public Library named five finalists in the 32nd annual Helen Bernstein Book Award for Excellence in Journalism. The award, which includes a $15,000 cash prize, honors "journalists whose books bring clarity and public attention to important issues, events or policies," according to a press release. The books are as follows:

No Turning Back by Rania Abouzeid (W. W. Norton)
American Prison by Shane Bauer (Penguin Press)
The Poisoned City by Anna Clark (Metropolitan)
Amity and Prosperity by Eliza Griswold (FSG)
Dopesick by Beth Macy (Little, Brown)
