Author Janice Peterson Dies

Janice Peterson, author and the wife of the late writer Eugene Peterson, passed away on May 10. She was 83.

Peterson wrote Becoming Gertrude: How Our Friendships Shape Our Faith, a guide to deepening friendships published by NavPress in 2018. In a statement mourning her death, publisher Don Pape pointed out that Peterson stood behind her husband yet maintained a voice of her own, calling her "a grand lady who is leaving behind a huge aching hole in my soul, but I am so very pleased she is now reunited with her Gene.”

Eugene Peterson, who wrote over 30 books including 2002's The Message (NavPress), passed away last year. He and his wife are survived by three children and nine grandchildren.
