Harlequin Unveils Mentorship Program

Harlequin has launched a program through which aspiring romance writers are given the opportunity to work directly with one of the publisher’s editors for a year and, ideally, publish a book. The Romance Includes You Mentorship, the publisher said, is open to North American writers from “underrepresented communities.” And, in addition to the editorial time given, includes a stipend of $5,000. Harlequin said the goal of the program is to have accepted writers develop a manuscript that can then be published through one of the house’s 12 series romance lines, or Carina Press. Submissions are being accepted beginning September 1. More details on the program can be found here
