PRH Grupo Editorial Acquires La Campana
Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial has completed its acquisition of Catalan publisher La Campana Llibres, established in 1985 by Josep María Espinàs and Isabel Martí. The terms of the transaction have not been made public. The announcement of this acquisition was made by Núria Cabutí, CEO of Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, and Isabel Martí, director of La Campana. This acquisition will enable PRHGE to reinforce and expand its position in the Catalan-language market, the publisher said, adding that it will "preserve La Campana’s publishing orientation and editorial identity and continue publishing Catalan-language originals and translations of fiction and non-fiction works in hardcover and trade paperback" while adding mass-market paperbacks, e-books, and audiobooks. La Campana’s catalog includes 400 titles. The Campana team, Martí said, would continue to work for the publisher without interruptions.
