BIGNY to Host Sesame Workshop Retrospective
On September 17, the Book Industry Guild of New York (BIGNY) will host Karen Halpenny, editorial director of American publishing for Sesame Workshop, as guest speaker at its September spotlight event. Halpenny will present a retrospective of the Sesame Workshop's past 50 years. Topics will include the history of Sesame Street, outreach initiatives such as the Yellow Feather Fund, and their book publishing focus, as well as other projects. The event will be held at Penguin Random House's 1745 Broadway, New York, N.Y., 10019, starting at 6:30 pm; a professional networking event will precede at 5:15 pm. Admission for the September 2019 BIGNY event and networking reception is $45 for BIGNY members, $75 for nonmembers. This event will also see the reinstating of the $5 Program Only pricing option.
