Stella Adler Studio Expands Into Arts Center

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting has relocated to 65 Broadway in Lower Manhattan from its longtime home at 31 West 27th Street in Chelsea, and has rebranded as the Stella Adler Center for the Arts. The studio will occupy two full floors at 65 Broadway, which is also known as the American Express building. The relocation is presently underway, and the studio expects to resume normal operations by the beginning of September.

The organization is simultaneously undergoing a rebranding as the Stella Adler Center for the Arts, to reflect the expansive scope of its public programming in the humanities and social justice. By rebranding as the Stella Adler Center for the Arts, the Studio is emphasizing its transformation over the past 30 years from an acting conservatory into a cultural organization. In recent years, the studio’s many public-facing programs have expanded significantly—as has its operating budget, which is now $8 million per year.
