Escoffery, Newman to Receive 'Paris Review' Honors

The Paris Review today has announced the winners of two literary awards to be presented at the 2020 Spring Revel, the Review’s annual literary celebration gala, on Tuesday, April 7, at Cipriani 25 Broadway in Manhattan. Jonathan Escoffery will receive the Plimpton Prize for Fiction for his story “Under the Ackee Tree,” from the Summer 2019 issue, and Leigh Newman will receive the Terry Southern Prize for Humor for her story “Howl Palace,” from the Fall 2019 issue. In addition, as was previously announced, Richard Ford will receive the Hadada Award for lifetime achievement, including work that has appeared in the Review since 1975.
