Vivendi Purchases 10% of Lagardère

Vivendi, which owns Editis, France's second-largest publishing group, has purchased 10.6% of Lagardère, which owns Hachette Livre, France's largest publishing company. Vivendi said it made the investment to show "confidence" in the company despite it facing challenges due to the coronavirus crisis.

Lagardère is facing a possible boardroom upheaval, as the leadership of Arnaud Lagardère is being questioned by Amber Capitol, one of the group's largest shareholders, who is calling for a review of management at the general assembly of investors scheduled for May 5.
