NYPL 2020 Young Lions Fiction Award Finalists Announced

The New York Public Library has announced the finalists for the 20th annual Young Lions Fiction Award, which honors the work of young authors of exceptional talent. The award, which debuted in 2001, is given each year to an American writer age 35 or younger for either a novel or a collection of short stories, and comes with a $10,000 prize. This year’s finalists are:

  • Steph Cha for Your House Will Pay
  • Julia Phillips for Disappearing Earth
  • Kiley Reid for Such a Fun Age
  • Xuan Juliana Wang for Home Remedies
  • Bryan Washington for Lot

The winner will be announced at an event to be scheduled in the fall.
