Government Supports Frankfurt Book Fair With Cash

The German government has granted the Frankfurt Book Fair four million euros to support the organization during the coronavirus crisis. The fair said it will use the funding to reduce this year’s exhibition stand fees by 20% to 50%, depending on the stand size. This applies to stands up to 48 square-meters, or about 515 square feet. The money will also be used to support the fair's digital activities, including the fair's book and culture festival and rights and licensing platform.

The grant is part of a billion euro program by the German government to support cultural initiatives.
