Speculative Literature Foundation Launches Chicago Chapter
The Speculative Literature Foundation, a volunteer-run organization modeled on the National Endowment for the Arts whose mission is to support writers of writers of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, as well as magazines and small presses publishing in those genres, launched a Chicago chapter this weekend. It is SLF's second chapter—the inaugural chapter was a San Francisco Bay Area chapter. The Chicago chapter of SLF will provide space and community to local writers working and membership in it currently is free. The Chicago chapter’s first virtual meeting was held Sunday and featured co-writing time with occasional prompts, followed by a happy hour.
