BIGNY Event to Spotlight 'Innovation at the Storefront'

On November 17, the Book Industry Guild of New York will host a virtual panel, "Innovation at the Storefront," bringing retail and industry experts together to discuss the evolution of bookselling in 2020, from reaching customers at home to safely welcoming them back to the storefront. Current genre trends, including cooking, education, and social justice, will also be examined. Speakers include Kalima DeSuze, owner of Cafe con Libros; Pete Mulvihill, coowner of Green Apple Books and Browser Books; Stacey Lewis, v-p and director of publicity, marketing, and sales at City Lights Booksellers & Publishers; and Charley Rejsek, general manager of BookPeople. The panel will be moderated by Brittyne Lewis, director of marking and publisher services at LSC Communications. The event will be held via Zoom at 5:30 p.m. ET with limited capacity. There is a $5 suggested donation. Click here for more information or to RSVP.
