Swedish Publisher Bertil Käll Dead at 82

Swedish publisher Bertil Käll died on December 20. He was 82. Käll served as the editor and publisher of Bokforlaget Forum for two and a half decades, during which time it was the most profitable publishing house within the Bonnier Group. He later became a scout for Swedish literature and was one of the first to recommend Stieg Larsson’s work to foreign publishers. Citing Käll's propensity for wearing Stetson hats and green suits, publisher Svante Weyler remembered Käll as, "one of the best, most charming and cosmopolitan publishers of the last decades of the 20th century.”
