Printers Row Lit Fest Returns to Chicago

After canceling last summer for the first time in its 36-year history due to the pandemic, Printers Row Lit Fest, billed as the Midwest’s largest celebration of books,  is returning to Chicago’s South Loop. The 36th annual book festival, which is free to attendees, will take place on the weekend of Sept. 11-12 on two blocks of Dearborn Street. Ta-Nehisi Coates, the recipient of this year’s Harold Washington Literary Award, named after the late mayor of Chicago, will headline this year’s festival, which will feature more than 100 authors, artists, and performers. According to festival sponsor, the community-based organization, Near South Planning Board, Printers Row “will follow city guidelines, with all necessary safety precautions in place.”
