Joshua Whitehead Novel Wins Canada Reads

Jonny Appleseed by Joshua Whitehead, published by Arsenal Pulp, won Canada Reads, the annual battle of the books contest hosted by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The novel, described as a coming-of-age story about a two-spirit person named Jonny trying to recover from the death of his stepfather, is the first by an indigenous author to win the competition.
